Shauna K. Mathis DC FASA

I completed my foundational healthcare education in chiropractic and acupuncture, then proceeded to train in european functional medicine.  My primary clinical focus was the treatment of patients with autoimmune diseases, chronic pain, addictions and stress disorders.  After 15 years of private practice, I left healthcare in 2010 to research the factors, in addition to disease treatments, that influence a patient's recovery from disease.

My healthcare career was fueled by the lifelong health struggles of my mother, Ally Morgann.  I became a physician to better understand the true healing mechanisms of the body and to help remedy the daily struggle that my mother, and patients at large, experience with serious chronic illness.  I observed that my mother’s health improved or declined based not on what treatments she was receiving, but based on the emotional climate in our home.  I observed her lifetime struggle to somehow get control of her health instead of being a constant victim to what her body seemed to be doing “to her”.

My specialty training gave me access to european health technologies that utilized widely unknown regulation systems of the body.  I began investigating various fields of breakthrough science to develop new health technologies that activate broader healing mechanisms.  My investigations were further motivated by patients in my private practice who would bring in mind body medicine books that gave them new hope for recovery yet left them feeling extremely frustrated as there seemed to be no practical way to implement these promising theories.

Rewire Healthcare is the culmination of my own investigations and the science gleaned from dozens of other healthcare providers, scientists, researchers and humanitarians.  The heart of the technologies is anchored in the experience of patients who faced serious illness with honesty and the willingness to grow through adversity.  They have taught me the critical value of meeting our non-negotiable human needs of love, compassion, belonging, mattering and safety.

Rewire Healthcare is dedicated to my mother, Ally Morgann, who passed from liver cancer in 2007.  Her fierce passion was to have her life and health struggles provide benefit to other patients so that they may find freedom and deeper meaning in life while living with serious disease.
